Did you know that the most under-employed demographic in America is adults on the autism spectrum? Many Autistic individuals require a little bit of extra love to find their fit in the workplace, and sometimes even more so in the music world.

Celebrate Women's History Month with Girls Make Beats
We are happy to support the new Girls Make Beats Jam Lab. 10-year-old DJ Miko was asked during an interview what she'd like to do with all of the skills she was learning at Girls Make Beats. Her response: “I’ll DJ parties and also be the first black female president!”

The Guitar Center Music Foundation has partnered with Sheila E's Elevate Oakland to build a new music room at Elmhurst United Middle School, Oakland, Calif. Helena Jack, the school's music director, knows how critical music education is to the development of children.

GCMF Collaborates with Jerry Garcia Music Arts on New Collectible Items
Working with Bears for Humanity, GCMF and Jerry Garcia Music Arts have created a limited-edition collectible “J.G. Bear” teddy bear. Additionally, t-shirts are available, identical to the t-shirt worn by the collectible bear. The shirts are adorned with a sketch of a musician playing a mandolin, originally created by Garcia himself.

GCMF Partners with Antioch Speedway Offering Students a Way to Graduate HS
Antioch Speedway volunteer, Larry Adams, found out kids from local high schools may not graduate due to not having enough elective credits. By getting this new program started, not only do the students get to go on to college, but they get hands on experience in a field that they've shown an interest and could potentially gain scholarships. GCMF donated all the audio visual equipment needed for the students.
