The Guitar Center Music Foundation hosted its 4th Annual Gala and Benefit Concert on the night of September 11 at The Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills—a night of music, recognition, and deep compassion for those touched by adversity. The event brought together the music community, industry leaders, philanthropists, and friends of GCMF to raise funds, uplift voices, and extend support to musicians and students in need.

Experience the Magic of Music
Under the musical supervision of Emmy-and GRAMMY-winner Adam Blackstone, guests enjoyed performances by The Time, Johnny Gill, Estelle, Tina Campbell, and Morris Day, while raising funds to expand music education and provide disaster relief for musicians impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires. Martina McBride and Garth Brooks made special appearances to say a few words of tribute to John McBride.
Awards
Several awards were presented to celebrate extraordinary contributions to music and education.
The Lifetime Achievement Award honored John McBride, legendary sound mixer and founder of Blackbird Studio, for his lasting impact on recording, engineering, and mentorship. The Vanguard Award went to the iconic duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, GRAMMY-winning producers celebrated for their groundbreaking influence and dedicated support of music education. The Excellence in Music Education Award was presented to co-founder of Urban Voices, Leeav Sofer.
Among other awards given, the Foundation also recognized firefighters who protected Los Angeles communities during this year’s wildfires, highlighting their bravery and the healing role music can play in times of crisis.
Fundraising
Through ticket sales, sponsorships, live pledges, and generous donations from attendees, the Gala raised critical funds to expand music education nationwide and provide emergency relief for musicians impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. Contributions will go toward restoring instruments in schools, supporting therapy and community programs, and replacing gear lost in disasters. With the help of an all-star audience of artists, executives, and philanthropists, the Foundation reinforced its mission to ensure music remains accessible as a tool for healing, education, and empowerment.
